Greed

CA$ 850.00 CAD

This sculpture is based on Aesop's fable 'The Goose the Laid the Golden Egg'. The farmer who had the goose that laid a golden egg every day was very happy to have the daily gift of a golden egg. However, his greed got the better of him. He thought that by killing the goose, he would be able to have all the golden eggs that were inside the goose at once. Instead all he found inside was flesh, blood, and bones. In the process he lost his source of wealth forever.

The story Behind

Aesop's fable 'The Goose that Laid the Golden Egg' teaches us the moral lesson that greed is to be avoided. By being greedy and running after money, one can lose a lot in life including peace of mind.

As a child I remember my father telling me this story and how the greedy farmer became the loser.

My father always showed us by his own example that doing good should be the main objective of one's life. When you do good, good automatically comes back to you.
