"Success is where preparation and opportunity meet." - Bobby Unser
I live close to Johnson's Mills where the sandpipers come annually in large flocks. Even up to 100,000 birds were spotted according to the CBC news article, '100,000 shorebirds spotted in 1 day at Johnson's Mills Shorebird Reserve'. It's an incredible sight watching these birds fly by the hundreds. It's like a large dark cloud drifting away.
For me, the biggest lesson to learn from these birds is that of preparedness. Success in life depends on planning and preparation. Each time I watch these birds I am in awe. I marvel about their resolve. It is incredible how these tiny little birds push the limits of their strength, and endurance to undertake the 72 hour non-stop flight.
