Campbell Carriage Factory was built in 1838. It was a major industrial site in Middle Sackville. It had a significant impact on the local economy.
For over 100 years (1838-1951) the factory built carriages, wagons, sleighs, sleds, and various household items.
There was a tannery in this location owned by John Beal before carriage maker, Ronald Campbell converted it into a carriage factory.
Today it is a carriage house museum housing the vestiges of an era where people travelled in horse drawn carriages. More information is available in the article, 'History of the Campbell Carriage Factory'.
