The covered bridge on High Marsh Road is still standing today. It is one of the less than 200 covered bridges that have survived in Canada.

It is iconic of the times when the bridges had to be covered to protect their wooden structure from the elements. The bridges were not covered just for the looks or to give a private space to young lovers.

An uncovered bridge would have a lifespan of 20 years whereas a covered bridge could last for over 100 years.
