Enterprise Monarch

William Shives Fisher was the president of the Enterprise Foundry from 1888 to his death in 1931 ( 'Sackville Then and Now' by Kip Jackson & Charlie Scobie, pg 55-56 ).

The Enterprise Foundry produced stoves, ranges, furnaces, and heaters. It was the second largest stove manufacturing facility in Canada.

The Enterprise Foundry was making wood stoves since 1800s. Monarch was one of their most popular stoves. It was a beautiful piece of engineering with enameled black sides and an elegant top. One could say it was the crown jewel.

It had a lined cast iron box which could be loaded from the front. It was suitable for coal or wood.

The nice thing about a wood burning cook stove is that it gives out gentle ambient heat in the winter.

People who used it for making bread would say that it was the best tasting bread they ever baked!
