This tile portrays the Hardware Store in downtown Sackville with a sign of Cash and Carry. An old fashioned car standing in front adds to the appearance of this vintage building. In those days many stores operated on cash and carry basis. It meant that there would be no delivery of goods and no purchases on a credit tab would be acceptable. The hardware store typically sold just about everything from coal used for heating homes to televisions with rabbit ear antennas to cosmetics. Bishop's Hardware Store in Dorchester had a similar setup.
