The Octagonal House is unlike any other house one would find in Sackville.
It was built by the sea captain, George Anderson, in 1855. It was located on Bulmer Lane overlooking the wharf on Tantramar River.
In 1989 the Town of Sackville acquired it.
As a Visitors' Information Centre, it was situated at the Mount Allison University's parking lot until it was acquired by Tantramar Heritage Trust in 2012.
The Tantramar Heritage Trust moved it to its current location on Queens Road where it serves as the research centre for the Tantramar Heritage Trust.
