Sackville Methodist/United Church existed in downtown Sackville from 1875 to 2015. Methodism was brought to Sackville by Yorkshire settlers in 1770.

As the needs of the community grew, the expansion to church was done. In 1898 a major enlargement to the configuration of a Greek cross took place based on the design of New Brunswick architect, H.H. Mott. The interior exquisite woodwork was done by skilled craftsmen who were ship builders. The magnificent four meter high stained glass windows were created by Montreal based artisans John Spence and Sons.

In 1925 the United Church of Canada was formed with the union of Methodist, Congregational, and part of Presbyterian congregations. The 116 pipe Casavant organ was installed in 1927. It was toned for excellent acoustic qualities which made it as one of the best concert halls in Maritimes.

The United Church, an iconic landmark in downtown Sackville, was demolished in 2015 after being in operation for 140 years. Some of the stain glass windows were salvaged.

The new building that was erected at the same place has apartments and some businesses,across from Cranewood on Main Street. The building has one of the remaining rose stain glass windows.
